伸缩装置的养护  
正常的维修、养护是保证伸缩装置正常工作和延**命的必不可少的重要环节，因此，养护工作应作到如下几点：  
(1）结合公路桥梁的日常养护工作，经常清扫密封橡胶带中积存的泥沙、石屑等杂物．防止影响伸缩装置受力时的自由伸缩，以及大石子等物将密封橡胶带刺破，造成漏水和漏沙土等，一经发现有破损应及时更换胶带。  
(2）经常检查边梁与桥面铺装连接处是否有损坏、裂缝、渗漏现象，一经发现应及时修补，以免影响伸缩装置与梁、板间锚固强度。  
(3）经常检查伸缩装置**面是否平整，如出现异常不平现象时，应进一步检查滑动承压支座或滑动压紧支座是否有损坏，如果损坏时应及时进行更换。对于MZL 型伸缩装置，设计中已充分考虑了零部件更换的方便性，并通过实验，证明是完全可行的。  
(4）在日常养护时，发现伸缩装置各缝间出现过大的不均匀位移时，可及时检查位移控制系统构件是否损坏，如发现有零部件损坏时也应及时进行更换。该装置采用标准构件，更换方便。  
(5）模数式伸缩装置，属于钢结构，尽管出厂前经过了较好的防护处理，但由于使用的环境恶劣，经过一定使用时期后，产生一般锈蚀属于正常现象，这时养护部门就应定期重新进行防锈处理，以保证伸缩装置正常的使用和较好的耐久性。

在伸缩缝上时，其荷载通过锚固系统传递到过渡段混凝土，再传递到梁板上，并产生一定的压缩变形。
